"I am honored to run for Fort Worth City Council, District 4.
As a lifetime resident of this incredible city, this decision comes from my heart and a lifelong commitment to the values that make our community so special. As a mother and grandmother, I understand the hopes and concerns we all share for the next generation. I think about the world we are building for our children and grandchildren—a place where they can feel safe, dream big, and have every opportunity to succeed. Their future drives me, and I believe that together, we can create a stronger, safer Fort Worth where every family has the chance to thrive. Having lived here, I’ve seen Fort Worth grow and change, and I want to ensure that growth continues in a way that benefits everyone. From our neighborhoods to our schools, our businesses to our parks, I believe we can build a city that’s even better for those who come after us. This is more than a campaign; it’s a promise to stand with you, listen to you, and work tirelessly to make our community a place we’re all proud to call home."
Public Safety for All
When I think about what matters most to families in our community, public safety is at the top of the list. As a mother and grandmother, I know how important it is to feel safe in our homes, on our streets, and in our neighborhoods. Every parent should be able to send their kids to school without worry, every worker should feel secure on their way home, and every senior should feel safe walking in their neighborhood.
That’s why public safety is my top priority. We need a strong, well-supported police force that works alongside our community, a fire department that is always ready to respond, and emergency services that can quickly help in times of need. But safety isn’t just about responding to emergencies—it’s about preventing them in the first place. It’s about building a community where we look out for one another, where neighbors come together to protect each other, and where our children grow up knowing that they are valued and cared for. I’m committed to ensuring that Fort Worth remains a place where families can flourish, where safety is more than just a promise—it’s a reality.
Lowering Property Taxes for Families and Business Owners
Property taxes are something that affect every homeowner, renter, and small business in our community. I understand the financial strain that rising property taxes can place on families, especially when they are already managing other costs of living. As a homeowner myself, I feel the pressure of increasing property taxes, and I know how it can impact the ability to stay in your home, invest in your property, or plan for the future.
We must find a balance—ensuring that our property taxes are fair and reasonable while still supporting the essential services that make our community thrive. Our property taxes help fund things like schools, public safety, and infrastructure, but they shouldn’t become an obstacle for the very people who make Fort Worth a great place to live. It’s not just about lowering taxes for the sake of it—it’s about making sure that taxes are sustainable, so our city can grow while giving homeowners the relief they need to stay where they are.
I’m committed to working toward property tax solutions that reflect the needs of our community. This includes advocating for greater transparency in how tax rates are set, ensuring that increases are kept in check, and exploring ways to support homeowners—particularly seniors, veterans, and low-income families—who are disproportionately impacted by rising taxes.
We must also think about long-term strategies that address the root causes of rising property taxes, such as the increasing cost of land and development. I believe in finding creative solutions to alleviate the pressure on property taxes while still ensuring that our city’s growth and public services are fully funded.
Bringing Transparency & Integrity
Transparency in government is essential to building trust and fostering a community where everyone feels informed and involved. As a candidate for Fort Worth City Council, I am committed to ensuring that the actions of our city government are open, clear, and accessible to all residents.
Government should work for the people, and that means every decision made, every dollar spent, and every policy implemented should be transparent and accountable. I believe residents must have easy access to information about what’s happening at City Hall, so they can make informed decisions, engage in the process, and hold their leaders accountable.
I will work to ensure that communication between the City Council and our community is ongoing, honest, and straightforward. From budgets to policy decisions, we need to make sure that people’s voices are heard and that they understand how decisions are being made and why. This is not just about providing information but creating an environment where transparency is a priority and residents are encouraged to participate actively in shaping our future.
As your representative, I will prioritize openness, honesty, and a commitment to keeping you informed every step of the way.
Advocating For Seniors & Veterans
Fort Worth is more than just a city to me—it’s my home. I’ve seen firsthand the incredible promise it holds, and I believe in building a future where everyone, from families to small business owners, has the opportunity to thrive. Growth isn’t just about new developments and infrastructure; it’s about creating a community where people feel secure, supported, and valued.
As Fort Worth expands, we must protect what makes this city special—our neighborhoods, our people, and our shared values. That means ensuring affordable housing, improving infrastructure, and making sure essential services like schools, healthcare, and parks are accessible to everyone. Every decision we make should add value to the lives of the people who already call this city home, not just those moving in.
But growth isn’t just about buildings—it’s about people. For me, this is especially personal when it comes to our veterans. My own family has a long history of service, and my brother was a World War II veteran. I’ve seen the sacrifices our service members make, and I know how much they’ve given to protect our freedoms. That’s why it breaks my heart to see veterans struggling with homelessness, job insecurity, and a lack of access to healthcare. No one who has served our country should ever have to wonder where they’ll sleep at night or how they’ll feed their family.
Fort Worth must do more. We need real solutions—stable housing, job programs, and better access to resources—to ensure that our veterans can transition successfully back into civilian life. We should be honoring their service with action, not just words.
At the heart of it all, I want Fort Worth to remain a place where people of all backgrounds—whether they’ve lived here for generations or are just starting out—can build a future. We can be a city that grows while still holding onto the values of community, compassion, and opportunity for all. By making smart, thoughtful decisions today, we can ensure Fort Worth remains a place where every person has the chance to live, work, and raise a family in a safe and welcoming environment.
Building Our Future Economic Development & Job Growth
Fort Worth is a city with immense promise and a bright future. As we look ahead, it’s essential that we approach growth and development with careful consideration, ensuring that our expansion benefits everyone who calls this city home. Thoughtful, strategic growth is about more than just new buildings and developments—it’s about creating a community where opportunities for success are within reach for all families and businesses.
As Fort Worth grows, we must focus on fostering developments that complement our existing neighborhoods and preserve the values we cherish. This means prioritizing sustainable growth that provides affordable housing, improves infrastructure, and ensures that vital services like schools, healthcare, and parks are accessible to everyone. We need to be intentional about how and where we build, ensuring that every new development adds value and enhances the quality of life for all residents.
Growth also means investing in our local businesses and creating an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive. We should support small businesses that have long been the heartbeat of our community and create opportunities for new businesses to flourish, providing jobs and strengthening our local economy.
Ultimately, growth and development are about balance. We want a city that is vibrant and forward-thinking, but we also want to maintain the character and sense of community that make Fort Worth such a special place to live. By making smart decisions now, we can build a future that ensures Fort Worth remains a place where people of all backgrounds and walks of life can live, work, and raise their families in a thriving, safe, and welcoming environment.
Daily Infrastructure
As a resident and someone who drives through Fort Worth every day, I know how important it is for our roads to be safe and well-maintained. We all rely on our streets to get to work, school, the store, and everywhere in between. Unfortunately, many of our roads need repair, and I’ve seen firsthand the frustration caused by potholes and rough patches that make our commutes harder than they need to be.
I’m committed to making sure that our roads are not just patched up, but truly repaired and built to last. It’s about more than fixing a few bumps in the road—it’s about investing in long-term improvements that make our city safer, less congested, and easier to navigate. We deserve streets that we can drive on with confidence, knowing they will support the growth of our families, neighborhoods, and businesses.
Homelessness, Panhandling & Housing Affordability: A Crisis We Must Confront
Homelessness isn’t just a statistic—it’s something I see every day in our district. I’ve looked into the eyes of people sleeping on sidewalks, in parks, and under bridges—people who once had stable jobs, families, and dreams but now find themselves struggling to survive. No one should have to call the streets their home. These are human beings who deserve dignity, safety, and opportunity.
This issue is personal. I have spoken with veterans who served our country with honor yet now find themselves homeless. I’ve met parents fighting to protect their children while navigating uncertain circumstances. I’ve heard the stories of individuals who lost everything due to job loss, illness, or unforeseen hardship. Every person experiencing homelessness has a story, and every one of them deserves to be seen, heard, and helped.
But while compassion is essential, so is action. We cannot ignore the impact homelessness and panhandling have on our communities. It affects public safety, burdens local businesses, and strains city resources. Panhandling, in particular, has become a growing concern, with aggressive solicitation creating unease for residents and visitors alike. We must find a balance between offering real help to those in need while maintaining the safety and integrity of our neighborhoods.
That means implementing real solutions, not just temporary fixes. We must invest in mental health services, job training programs, and transitional housing to help individuals regain stability. We need to collaborate with churches, nonprofits, and local organizations already doing this critical work and empower them with the resources they need. At the same time, we must enforce policies that discourage aggressive panhandling and direct individuals toward services that provide long-term solutions, not just short-term handouts.
Housing affordability is also a major factor in this crisis. As Fort Worth grows, we must ensure that working families, seniors, and young professionals can afford to live here. Responsible development, affordable housing initiatives, and smart zoning policies must be part of the solution to prevent more people from falling into homelessness. A strong Fort Worth is one where no one is left behind—but also one where our streets, parks, and businesses remain safe and welcoming for everyone. I refuse to accept the status quo. We can do better. This isn’t just an issue to me—it’s a responsibility. And I’m ready to take action.
Education & Youth Programs
As someone who has worked with the ASPIRE program, I have seen firsthand the power of education to change lives. But education is more than just textbooks and tests—it’s about opportunity, mentorship, and preparing our children for a successful future. When we invest in our youth, we invest in the future of Fort Worth.
I will fight for stronger partnerships between the city and our schools, ensuring that students have access to after-school programs, career readiness initiatives, and vocational training that equips them with real-world skills. Every child, regardless of background, deserves a clear pathway to success.
But education isn’t just about academics—it’s about ensuring our children have a safe and supportive environment in which to learn. Teachers should be empowered with the resources they need, and students should have access to the tools that will help them thrive. That’s why I will work to ensure our city budget reflects our priorities, giving both educators and students the support they deserve.
School safety is also a top priority. No parent should have to worry about their child’s well-being at school. I will advocate for increased security measures, including well-trained guards, to create a safe learning environment for every student.
Our children are more than just numbers in a system—they are the heart of our community, the leaders of tomorrow, and the future of Fort Worth. Their success and safety are not just priorities—they are a responsibility. I am committed to standing up for our youth, ensuring they have the opportunities, security, and support they need to reach their full potential.
Building Stronger Neighborhoods Strengthening Our City
A city is only as strong as its neighborhoods. Our communities are more than just streets and buildings—they are where we raise our families, build relationships, and create memories. Every neighborhood, whether newly developed or rich with history, deserves investment and care.
I will work to revitalize and invest in our communities, ensuring that no neighborhood is overlooked. This means improving parks, libraries, and public spaces to create places where families can gather and children can play. It means addressing zoning concerns to protect residents from overdevelopment while ensuring responsible growth that enhances—not disrupts—our communities. It means fighting for cleaner streets, fixing infrastructure, and ensuring public safety remains a top priority.
Fort Worth is growing rapidly, but growth must benefit everyone—not just a select few. We must protect the character of our neighborhoods while embracing smart, sustainable development that strengthens our local economy and improves our quality of life. By investing in our communities, we invest in the future of Fort Worth.
